For Windows 8.0 and 8.1
To enable the standard F1-F12 mode on Windows 8.0 and 8.1:

- Step 1: Click on the start button
- Step 2: In the search bar shown below type out “HWSetup” and select the HWSetup option in the given list
- Step 3: Now in the HWSetup window click on the keyboard tab
- Step 4: Under the function keys mode heading select standard F1-F12 mode and click on OK
- Step 5: A “Change will occur” tab will pop up on your screen when you will reboot your laptop. Press “Yes” to reboot now or “No” to reboot later

The Toshiba function key utility is a program that is designed to provide the users with a way to enable support for the Fn key on different laptop models. The function Fn key provides different features such as adjusting brightness, security, etc.
